Vitrosilicon S.A. is a member of the large Polish Ciech Chemical Group. It is a manufacturer of smelted glass products and chemical products, namely:
- glass containers, such as jars and candle lanterns
- CaroGlass glass blocks
- sodium and potassium silicates in lumps
- sodium and potassium water glass
As a Company, Vitrosilicon was established in 1988, as a result of the privatization of the Żagań Glass Works, which had been the third largest packaging glass works in Poland, operating continuously since the end of World War II. This is very important, for - besides the equipment - a crucial factor in glass making which influences the quality of manufactured products is experience.
The company owns three manufacturing plants:
- in Iłowa, where the headquarters of the company's Management Board are located and where glass blocks, woter glass and glass containers are manufactured.
- in Żary, where sodium and potassium silicates in lumps are produced, and
- in Pobiedziska near Poznań, where glass containers is manufactured
The plants employs jointly almost 600 people.
The company's strategy, aside of meeting the customers' requirements, is constant development of its production capacity and search for new manufacturing potential. In line with that strategy, Vitrosilicon is constantly expanding, which is proven by the recent large investments and strategic plans prepared in advance. Through constant development, we expand our production capacity, revenue and employment. Development provides us also with market diversification, which makes the company less vulnerable to changes in the market conditions. And, most importantly for our customers, development ensures constant improvement in the manufacturing quality. Customers that cooperate with us know that very well.
